Our sixth annual Battle for Betsy Event grew again. We moved our event back home, to the Jesup Golf Course and provided both morning and afternoon golf tee-off times to support additional golf teams. Our silent auction, raffle, liquor pull and t-shirt sales helped us to raise $47,000. We donated $40,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association Longest Day, $4000 to the UNI Dementia House and $3000 to Cedar Valley Hospice to support their new Guide Model, which supports local individuals with dementia and their families with their care. This program is close to our hearts, as Betsy was cared for by Cedar Valley Hospice in her final years.
